Welcome to the fan continuity of Transformers:SNAP! Here's a quick low-down of the project:

  • Who are you?

Hi, I'm RB or Rito, any pronouns! I started this project in late 2019 after getting obsessed with the Transformers franchise thanks to the Bumblebee movie. The long term goals is to turn it into a webcomic, but I'm not forcing myself to go on the grind for that. I have a dozen other things I'm doing at any given time, but this has become a special interest of mine, so I'll always circle back!

  • Why a fan made Transformers continuity instead of, like, normal fanart?

Because I've always been obsessed with worldbuilding, storytelling, and turning things on their heads. I'm not even a super magical girl genre fan or anything, I just really love what I've come up with for SNAP.

  • What's SNAP stand for?

Technically, it stands for サイバトロンの新しいプライム. That’s Seibatoron No Atarashi Puraimu, or The New Primes of Cybertron in English. As SNAP is full of tropey goodness borrowed from superhero and magical girl anime, I thought it only fitting that I christen it with a Japanese name. (Don’t worry, some Japanese friends translated it for me, it’s not Google translate nonsense.) This is also the origin of the logo, modeled after other classic Japanese Transformers shows like Victory.

  • Okay, but what IS it exactly?

The Jhiaxian Academy of Advanced Technology has only just been opened by Senator Shockwave, and Orion Pax is excited to be one of the accepted students. He was planning to juggle homework and a social life, but an encounter with the crazy old Alpha Trion quickly gives him and his friends Minimus Ambus and Windblade a greater responsibility: being heroes. With Primal Relics of great power, they upgrade into the Autobots Optimus Prime, Ultra Magnus, and the Mistress of Flame, protecting the academy from supernatural threats and their rivals the Decepticons. Galvatron, Hellscream, Scourge, and Cyclonus all seek to topple the current regime reigning over society, while the Autobots try to instigate change through positive example. Will the two superpowered factions make any difference in society? Will the academy remain open when it is constantly threatened by the supernatural? Will the Autobots be able to keep their secret identities when surrounded by other students? And, most importantly, when will they realize that there is a greater enemy pulling the strings, seeking dominion over the spark of Cybertron itself?

It’s 64 episodes, ~25 main characters, a copious amount of worldbuilding, and lots of doodles of pure tropey fun. It's almost completely plotted out, all the major players are designed, and I've got some fantastic plot twists up my sleeve if I do say so myself. I am using the franchise as my sandbox, come play with me!

  • Is [insert character here] in SNAP?

Probably! Current list of background characters is… *sweats* over 200 names long… If you don’t see them here, it’s either because I haven’t yet doodled them, forgot to post them, they're saved for a different purpose, or I just didn't know about them and haven't found a place for them. HOWEVER. If you’re looking for humans, you’ll only find them in meta references, instead of actual characters. No squishies here! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (...yet?)

  • I have something I want to ask/mention/draw/suggest, can I?

Please do! I love when people play with me in SNAP! Feel free to insert your OCs, come up with AUs or speculations, draw fanart or write fic, or ask me about something! You can drop on by my tumblr at any time, that may be the easiest way to chat until I figure out how to code a chatbox here! (I think I'm doing pretty good for someone with zero experience in coding, not even a basic tutorial readthrough.)
